Durga Nagar residents’ delegation calls on Div Comm

JAMMU, July 19: A joint deputation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee, BJP Mandal Durga Nagar and Durga Mandir Committee called on Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Varma here, today and highlighted their demands before him.
The delegation comprised of Roshan Lal Pandita, president Durga Nagar Welfare Committee and its other office bearers, Makhan Lal, Mandal president, BJP, Ram Krishan president, Durga Mandir Committee. They informed him about the non existence of names in the electoral rolls of Municipal Corporation.
The deputation also presented a memorandum to him informing that in 2004-05 when the election to JMC took place all the names were entered in the electoral list but the present Government has deprived the voters of the area of their legitimate rights who are residing in Ward 64 from last 28 years now.
Terming it a quite injustice the delegation demanded that the names of all voters be included in the electoral lists of JMC for Ward No 62, 63, 64 and 66 so that the people residing there are not deprived of their democratic right.
