People protest against PDD for low voltage, power cuts

UDHAMPUR, May 28: Locals of village Chowki Jandrore, Birnoo, Bansui in Ramnagar tehsil protested against low voltage and unscheduled power cuts in the area.
The protesting villager raised slogans against Power Development Department (PDD) and held a protest demonstration at Chowki Jandrore. They accused the PDD of failing to ensure regular supply of electricity to the area comprising four village having around 20,000 thousands population, which has only two transformers; one 100KV and one 65KV.
The villagers were demanding installation of two new transformers of 250 KV each for smooth power supply to the area so that they may not suffer more in this scorching heat. “During the Covid-19, the students are being provided online education, which is badly affected because of erratic power supply and low voltage,” they added.
The protest demonstration was addressed by Ajay Singh, Sohan Lal Panch, Yodhu Ram, Sanjay Singh, Manju Singh, Anil Dogra and Ajay Kumar.
