JAMMU, Apr 22: Janipur Police today apprehended a pedestrian and recovered 5-7 grams of heroin near High Court Chowk during evening patrolling.
The accused, identified as Ritvik Gupta of Lakkar Mandi, Janipur, was intercepted after his suspicious movements drew the attention of a police team led by PSI Sanat Sharma. During a personal search, around 5-7 grams of the contraband was recovered from his possession.
A case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Janipur. Further investigation has been initiated to probe the forward and backward linkages of the case.
