RAJOURI, Apr 22: The police apprehended two drug- peddlers and recovered a substantial quantity of narcotic substance from them in Lamberi area of district Rajouri today.
Reports said a police team during naka at Lamberi on NHW-144 A, intercepted a Baleno vehicle, bearing registration number JK11F-9199. During checking, two persons identified as Irfan Sadiq, son of Sadiq Hussain and Krishna Bhasin, son of Raman Bhasin, both residents of Nowshera, were apprehended.
Upon search, nearly 350 grams of Charas was recovered from their possession. Both accused were immediately arrested and the contraband was seized on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 74/2026 under relevant sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nowshera, and further investigation has been initiated.
The operation was carried out by a team from Police Station Nowshera led by SHO Arjun Mangotra, under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, Sahil Mahajan.
