JAMMU, Aug 20: The employees of Power Development Department, under the banner of All J&K PDD Employees Union/ Daily Wagers Union are going on indefinite hunger strike from August 22 in support of their demands.
Arvind Sharma, provincial president, All J&K PDD Employees Union/ Daily Wagers Union said that Union members have resolved to go for the agitation. Daily wagers are continuously on strike for the last 53 days. There is no positive response shown by the Government. Daily wagers are demanding regularization of 321 Daily wagers of Jammu district whereas, only 60 have been regularized in Kathua district. They have appealed the administration especially PDD authorities for convening of DPC immediately, release of pending wages of need base employees.
