JAMMU, Aug 20: Natrang Director, Balwant Thakur has been invited to Kolkata Theatre Festival which is going to be the biggest ever theatre festival of India featuring 127 plays and interaction with 50 great maestros of Indian Theatre.
Organised by East Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India this biggest ever theatre bonanza is being held at Bhartiyam, Kolkata. Kolkata Theatre festival amongst many activities will feature a National seminar entitled ‘Multiple streams of Indian theatre’ in which August 30, 2015 is focussed on Balwant Thakur in which he will share his mind-blowing journey of theatre from his picturesque village Bakkal (Reasi) to Frankfurt International Theatre festival in addition to the presentation of a paper ‘Origin and Development of Jammu Theatre’.
Terming this as an opportune moment, Balwant Thakur said that through his presentation this region will get a wider exposure at the National platform and world will know about the hardships encountered by the theatre fraternity of J&K to keep alive the spirit ‘Show must go on’.
