Srinagar, July 17: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah today met the District Development Commissioner Budgam at latter’s office and raised issues concerning Beerwah constituency.
He impressed upon DDC Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asghar to ensure all basic and effective amenities to the people of Beerwah. He apprised the DDC about the shortage of drinking water and electricity in the Beerwah constituency.
Omar while interacting with the DDC apprised her about the nonexistence of any proper electricity schedule in the constituency. He said that the student community was at the receiving end due to the erratic power supply in the area. He also acquainted the DDC about the poor condition of various roads in the constituency and urged her to augment the pace of road repairs in the constituency.
Omar impressed upon the DDC to boost the pace of work on various outstanding road projects in the area including Khag -Ari Panth, Beerwah-Magam-Budgam road linkages. He said that the timely completion of these essential road linkages will make the lives of people better besides decreasing the time of travel.
Party vice president also took up the issue of health facilities in the Beerwah and said that the people have been left to fend for themselves in wake of nonexistence of proper medical facilities and necessary medical staff.
He said the lack of accountability in the local multi tire health facilities in Beerwah was taking its toll on the poorest of poor. He urged the DDC to ensure that the patients did not have to suffer any further in the future. He also sought urgent intervention of the DDC towards ensuring accountability in various Government offices in the area.
