JAMMU, May 9: HPCL in association with NIIT Bari Brahmana conducted free computer classes for about 70 students of Fauji Public School at Rajinder Vihar (Patti –Rai Suchani).
Speaking on the occasion, Col Prem Singh, Director, NIIT Bari Brahmana, reiterated the need of technology enabled classrooms. He said that focus of development in the rural areas should aim at enriching our youth’s knowledge which is fast expanding.
Manish Tandon, Chief Regional Manager, HPCL, J&K said that that the computer classes widen the horizons of education as well as future employability for the under privileged students.
Gen GS Jamwal, president, J&K Ex-serviceman League, thanked HPCL and NIIT for installing computer, providing books and training the students thereby making them the first generation computer learners and taking technology into the classrooms.
Col Kulbir Singh, Col Virender Sahi, Col AS Jamwal, Lt Col NS Salaria, Lt Col Sham Lal besides principal staff and children of the school were present on the occasion.
