Natrang organizes mega cultural shows ‘Colors of J&K’

JAMMU, Mar 19: Theatre group Natrang organised two mega cultural shows entitled ‘Colors of Jammu & Kashmir’ at Sunderbani and Samba.
Designed and directed by Padamshree Balwant Thakur, these mega cultural shows featured over 150 artists.
In addition to the showcasing of varied contemporary and traditional performing art forms of Jammu and Kashmir, these mega cultural shows featured the celebrity performances by Shivjot Singh (Internationally acclaimed Punjabi Singer of Pilazzo fame), Suraj Singh (Mega Awardee of Saa Ree Gama) and Anmol Jaswal (Indian Idol).
Witnessed by mammoth public gathering these mega cultural shows were sponsored by BSF’s 126 Bn (Sunderbani) and 173 Bn (Samba).
Both the shows were anchored by prominent artists like Anil Tickoo and Sanjeev Gupta respectively.
Describing about the concept of these shows, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur informed the efforts were made to offer a mixed bag of presentations ranging from the tradition to contemporary and pure to the popular to massive crowds.
The major attraction was the item celebrating a unique cultural album of J&K showcasing the variegated variety of different colours, rhythms, costumes, design patterns and artistic expressions through the dances of J&K.
Starting with vibrant Kashmiri ‘Rouf’, the programme transported the enormous audiences to a most rejoicing journey of the State of J&K, unfolding spectacular dance traditions of Kashmiri, Dogri, Gojri, Pahari, Bhadarwahi, Balti and Ladakhi cultures.
The lights were executed by Brijesh Sharma and the shows were coordinated by Mohd. Yaseen.
