JAMMU, Jan 16: Mystery shrouded the death of a young woman and critical injuries to her husband as well as their minor daughter of hardly three -years, who were found in a roadside gorge at Bidda Morh under the jurisdiction of Police Station Jyotipuram in Reasi district, this morning.
The injured man and the baby have been shifted to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu in view of their critical condition while identity of the trio was not yet ascertained.
Even as Police has initiated proceedings in the case under Section 174 RPC, murder of the woman and attempt to kill her husband and their baby is not ruled out. The deceased woman and her husband were lying in a pool of blood around 30 feet deep from roadside while the baby was trying to come out of the gorge when a minibus driver on the way noticed her.
On getting the information, SSP Reasi Vivek Gupta along other Police officers immediately reached the spot and shifted the victims to District Hospital Reasi where doctors declared the woman as brought dead. The man and baby girl, who have sustained critical head injuries, were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu.
Since the injured man was unconscious and the baby was too shocked to give any statement to the Police, identity of the trio could not be ascertained. The deceased as well as the injured were wearing fine clothes and seemed belonging to some middle class family.
Some locals claimed that when the girl and her father were being shifted to District Hospital Reasi, they had tried to talk with the minor who told them that her name was Neha, her mother’s name was Priyanka and father’s name was Bablu. She reportedly said `Chachu Ne Maara….. (father’s brother had killed).
However, Police said that identity of the trio was not yet ascertained and no statement of the injured was recorded so far.
