MTCA deputation meets RTO

JAMMU, May 19: The Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Jammu called a meeting of authorized representatives of All J&K Motor Transport Companies Association (MTCA), wherein the representatives of companies apprised the RTO of the difficulties and concerns of the transporters and the general masses.
The RTO gave a patient hearing to the problems projected by transporters and assured that these would be addressed at an earliest possible. The RTO has ordered closing of RTO office at 2:30 pm sharp and that no work whatsoever would be carried out after that to curb malpractices in the RTO office.
The issue of self-styled leaders of unauthorized companies misbehaving with the staff of RTO office also came up for discussion and S Gajan Singh, president, assured that in case any unauthorized agent was found indulging in any unlawful practices, the representatives of the authorized companies will hand over such culprits to police.
The RTO stressed on the representatives not to indulge in bribing the officials to get their issues solved and in case any representative was found doing any such unlawful deeds, he shall be punished as giving and accepting bribe is a crime and menace of corruption should be uprooted.
Prominent among others present were Gajan Singh, Raj Kumar Khajuria, Pankaj Sharma, Titu Sawhney, Raju Jamwal, Amarjit Singh Pappu etc.
