MLC’s concern over shortage of docs in Nowshera, Sunderbani hospitals

NOWSHERA, May 6: Expressing his grave concern over non-availability of doctors and adequate para-medical staff in sub-district hospitals of Nowshera and Sunderbani, senior leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Member of Legislative Council (MLC), Surinder Choudhary today demanded deployment of medical staff immediately in these two hospitals.
He sought personal intervention of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Health Minister, Choudhary Lal Singh to get medical staff deployed in these two hospitals to give some relief to the residents of this mountainous belt.
In a statement issued here today, Mr Choudhary pointed out that with the commencement of summer incidents of snake bites have increased but there is no provision of providing treatment to the patients. “Except rushing to GMC Jammu even for minor decease people have no other option because Rajouri hospital lacks basic infrastructure”, he said.
Cautioning that anger was brewing among residents of Sunderbani and Nowshera, Mr Choudhary warned that people will be left with no other option but to come on street if medical staff was not deployed in these two hospitals with in a week’s time.
