MIET students garner 150 placement offers

JAMMU, May 23: The Training and Placement Cell at Model Institute of Engineering and Technology reported its best placement season during 2020 with 150 offer letters for graduating batch of Engineering and MBA students.
In total 28 companies hired 133 students with 1 student receiving 3 offer letters and 15 students receiving 2 offer letters.
The highest salary package for Engineering students was Rs 12 lakhs per annum (LPA) and the median salary was Rs 4 lakhs per annum. The highest salary package for MBA students was Rs 10 lakhs per annum with median salary at Rs 3.6 lakhs per annum.
The top companies which recruited B.E students included Capgemini, Cognizant Technologies, TCS, Wipro Technologies, NIIT, Tech Mahindra, JARO Education and Altrang. The major companies which visited School of Management for recruitment included HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Netcore Solutions, Ceasefire and BYJUs. Abhayjeet Zutshi from CSE bagged the highest salary package of 12 LPA whereas 30 students were offered annual salary package of 10 LPA including 18 from CSE, 7 from ECE, 2 from EE and 3 from MBA. This is a significant improvement in the placement outcomes with students being able to garner job offers with higher packages.
Prof. Ankur Gupta, Director MIET congratulated the selected students and expressed gratitude to the companies which hired the students from MIET. Many of the placed students, especially in the IT sector have already joined and have commenced working from home.
