Mehbooba visits Kreeri, offers condolences to Bukhari’s family

KREERI (BARAMULLA), June 16:  Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti  today visited Kreeri, Baramulla to offer personal condolences to the family of veteran journalist and Editor of Rising Kashmir, Dr. Syed Shujaat Bukhari who was killed by unknown assailants in Srinagar on Thursday.
Sympathising with the mourners, the Chief Minister said the killing of Shujaat Bukhari has sent a wave of anger and shock all across and it has been unequivocaly condemned at local, national and international levels. She said the killing of veteran journalist has amply displayed that violence does not stand to the scrutiny of logic and rationale.

She said the contribution made by Shujaat Bukhari in bringing innovations to the media in the State is historic and worth emulating for younger generation.
On the occasion, Mehbooba Mufti also interacted with the family members of  Shujaat Bukhari and conveyed her heartfelt sympathies to the entire family on the tragic loss. She also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Ministers, legislators, prominent political and community leaders and people from all across the Valley were present on the occasion.
