Gupta for decisive action to eradicate cross border terror

JAMMU, June 16: Denouncing the inhuman acts of violence even during the holy days of Ramzan by the Jehadis, former Union Minister, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta said that committing of heinous crimes by the operators clearly indicate that such elements have no regard for the holy days. He stressed for decisive moves to eradicate menace of cross border terror which have already consumed thousands of innocent lives and posing a serious threat to peace and tranquility.
In a statement issued here today, Prof Gupta particularly referred to the assassination of the senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari, attack on the border post of Baba Chamlayal martyring four men of  BSF including the Assistant Commandant as also the abduction and brutal killing of an Army jawan, Aurangzeb, who was on his way to celebrate Eid at his home, and said that these horrible acts of insanity itself speak volumes that to what an extent the madness has engulfed the minds of these zealots.
Prof Gupta said it sounds strange despite so many such senseless barbaric acts of human killings as also making the life miserable for peace loving people of this State, the reports of UN Human Rights Commission are listing something else, Cock and Bull stories. The Government of India, he said, has rightly rejected such a report terming it fallacious and motivated.
He said that legally and constitutionally the J&K is an integral and irrevocable part of India and Pakistan has no locus standii. It is constitutional duty of any dispensation at New Delhi to defend each part of the country and no one has the authority to create confusion from within and outside, Prof Gupta maintained.
