BILLAWAR, Jan 5: Expressing serious concern over the steep rise in number of ceasefire violation incidents and militant attacks on security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, PCC general secretary and former Minister Dr Manohar Lal charged the Modi Government with its failure to give Pakistan a befitting reply.
In a statement, Dr Sharma said it was a matter of great concern that the Pakistani Rangers had repeatedly violated ceasefire up to 820 times in 2017 and 221 times in 2016 on LoC in which many soldiers of BSF and armed forces attained martyrdom.  Dubbing Pakistan a rogue State, he stressed that India should adopt a comprehensive and multi dimensional strategy to combat terrorism and tackle with Pak sponsored proxy war.
The Congress leader alleged that  the Modi Government was  strong in words only and when it comes in delivery, it seems to be  weakest ever Government in the country. “The enemy is taking advantage of this weak Government and carrying attacks on security forces on the border and in Kashmir as well. There is no concrete road map with Prime Minister and he is only issuing statements without caring about the Indian foreign policy,” he said and further alleged said that the Modi Government was trying to befool people of the country by its false propaganda.
“We strongly condemn this cowardly attacks by Pakistan and its sponsored terrorists here, but the present NDA Govt is equally responsible for these attacks because it has failed to give Pakistan a befitting reply and expose its double standards vis-à-vis terrorism.  The policy of BJP / NDA Government is soft in actual and tough in words only,” said Dr Sharma.
