JAMMU, May 14: The Central body of the All J&K +2 Lecturers’ Forum today held a UT-level meeting under the chairmanship of R S Salathia, Chairman of the Forum, for discussion over demands and issues of the lecturers.
The meeting was attended by Pardeep Koul, Jammu Division President, and Mohd Younous Gurezi, Kashmir Division President, representing their respective divisions. Pardeep Singh Rakwal, Chief Advisor of the Forum, presided over the virtual session, while RK Padroo coordinated the proceedings.
Addressing the meeting, RS Salathia criticised the Government for not issuing transfer orders of Jammu Division lecturers under ATD and termed it gross discrimination against the lecturers of the division.
Pardeep Koul, in his address, stated that the issue of ACP was nearing resolution due to the consistent and united efforts of the Forum. He described the one-time exemption in permissions and Cabinet revalidation for regularisation as major achievements of the Forum. Speaking on regularisation, Koul expressed confidence that the regularisation of incharge lecturers would be resolved expeditiously.
Mohd Younous Gurezi assured full support from the Kashmir Division in resolving all pressing issues concerning the cadre. He also appealed to Education Minister Sakeena Itoo to ensure early issuance of transfer orders of Jammu Division lecturers.
The forum further requested the Minister to revisit transfer orders issued vide Order No. 192-DSEK of 2026 dated 08-05-2026 concerning lecturers earlier transferred from Gurez through ATD, observing that the affected lecturers had already rendered 15-20 years of service in the area.
Among those, who also spoke during the meeting, included B K Tickoo, Renu Lengeh (Vice Presidents), Ghar Singh (General Secretary), Gh Nabi Malik (Legal Advisor), Surinder Singh Madhyal (District President Kathua), Altaf Hussain Mir, Iftikhar Hussain, Javaid Ahmed, Suresh Mattoo and other members.
