Krishna Nagar residents’ concern over insanitation

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, July 31: The residents of Mohalla Krishna Nagar today held a meeting under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, president and vice president, Kamaljeet Navgug Yuva Sangathan (NYS) Ward No.12 to discuss the problem faced by them due to choked nullahs, out of order street lights and deteriorated condition of lanes and drains.
They alleged that nallah running through their Mohalla and pollution dumping site near Children’s Park have become a health hazard for whole of the Mohalla and breeding ground for all insects and worms. During the rainy season, the rain water that spills from the nallah, seeps into plinth of the residential houses, thereby causing dampness and every chance of making the structure unsafe, the residents added.
Besides, the lanes of the entire Mohalla are in dilapidated condition and street lights have become non-functional, they said and appealed Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to pay attention towards the matter and take proper action to have the needful done at its earliest convenience.
