KATHUA, Mar 13: In order to take strict action against illegal mining within the district, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal today seized three vehicles (Dumpers) along with one Excavator machine indulged in illegal mining which were being used for illegal transportation of construction material in the jurisdictional area of Police Station (PS) Hiranagar and PS Kathua.
Police said a team headed by Inspector, Sunil Kumar SHO, PS Hiranagar while on patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area found two Dumpers bearing Registration Numbers JK08J-2577 and JK08L2577 respectively indulged in illegal mining which were being used for illegal transportation of construction material. While in another instance, on receiving the information from the reliable source that few vehicles were indulged in illegal mining near Ravi river, a police team led by Inspector, O P Chib, SHO, PS Kathua in its jurisdictional area near Ravi river seized one dumper bearing (Chassis No. MBIHTLFD46PBU3147) along with one Excavator Machine bearing (Model No. EX200LC) indulging in illegal mining which were being used for illegal transportation of construction material.
Meanwhile, all the three dumpers along with one Excavator machine were handed over to the officials of Mining Department Kathua for further legal proceedings.
