J&K most favoured tourism destination in India

GAUHATI, July 1: A three-day tour and travel fair organized at Gauhati on 27th to 29th of June by Fairfest Media Limited concluded here today.
The Tourism Departments of various States and private stake holders put up large stalls in the three-day fair.
Large number of people from the North Eastern States visited the pavilion. There was good response from the people to visit Jammu and Kashmir.
Highlighting the natural beauty of Kashmir, Director Tourism Soujanya Sharma said that the Kashmir is known for its natural beauty and he invited the people to visit Kashmir and enjoy the pleasure as well as adventure tourism. He said that the Mughal Badshah Jahangir described Kashmir as heaven on earth. He requested people to experience heaven in their life time.
While describing Jammu as a preferred pilgrim tourism destination, he said we share the same platform with Gauhati. He said that one of the Shakti Peeth is at Kamakhya Devi and another Shakti Peeth at Jammu, Mata Vaishno Devi Ji.
Describing Mata Vaishno Devi as a most favoured pilgrimage destination of Northern India, he said more than one crore people visit the holy shrine every year. He said that the thrust of the Government is to retain these pilgrim tourists at Jammu for day or so. The Government is developing new tourist attraction in and around Jammu.  He said North Eastern State Jammu and Kashmir is getting the same help from the Central Government. The Government of India has sanctioned many projects to boost tourism in our and your State. He thanked the organizer for inviting Jammu and Kashmir in this part of the country to boost tourism.
