JAMMU, July 1: Viklang Chhatra Trust (VCT) in a letter to Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India has requested him to consider the case of a young and destitute minor female child, Kanna Devi alias Kanna Raina for fitment of Bionic Bilateral Arms at the Govt expenses to transform her into a refined human being and prove asset to the country.
It is pertinent to mention here that Kanna Raina is 11 year old handicapped child born with only one leg and no arms. She is courageous and strong willed human being and braving all odds of life she has excelled in studies and sports. She is the inmate of JRC Home for Handicapped Children in Jammu.
VCT Akhnoor has provided her a world famous Jaipur footleg in its 10th Free Fitment Artificial Limbs Camp in collaboration with Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti, Jaipur, which helped her to walk, run and attend other pursuits.
In the National Olympic Games for Handicapped held in Ajmer in Rajasthan in December 2013, Kanna won gold in 100 meter sprint race.
The Trust has requested the Prime Minister of India to help her on the analogy of Monika Maurre, who has been fitted Bionic Artificial Arms at Government expenses in Kem Hospital of Mumbai by a team of doctors headed by Pardeep Bhonsale.
