RAMBAN, Dec 6: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway which was blocked after land-slides near Ramban on Thursday afternoon, was reopened for traffic this morning.
An official spokesman said that Highway was blocked at Mehar near Chenab bridge in Ramban area at around 3 pm on Thursday. Continuous shooting stones disrupted the road clearance work several times. Even a truck was trapped there and suffered minor damage but both the operators escaped unhurt.
The restoration work was launched during early hours today and the highway was restored in the morning. All the stranded vehicles were cleared by this evening, the spokesman added.
