JAMMU, June 15: Joint Action Committee of General Category has asked the leaders of all political parties, and particularly those occupying constitutional positions to desist from trying to influence the Government for reservation of SC/ST and OBC category in promotions.
The appeal was made during a meeting of the Joint Action Committee, held here today at Brahman Sabha Jammu, under the chairmanship of Ved Parkash Sharma and Jb Farooq, for discussing alleged breach of oath by those holding Constitutional position by openly supporting reservation in promotions.
“Let the law takes its own course in respect of reservation in Jammu and Kashmir, where the Constitutional sovereignty has been guaranteed under Article 370 and the stand taken by Government in the Supreme Court in the SLP number 32820 of 2015, titled Mohammad Haneef Lone vs Ashok Sharma shall always be guiding force on this issue,” the meet observed.
The Association further pointed out that the matter with regard to reservation in the promotion is still under consideration of Supreme Court and no further orders have been issued in this SLP, which actually pertains to State of J&K.
