Indian soldiers’ killing disrupts Rajya Sabha till noon

NEW DELHI :  The Rajya Sabha was today disrupted over  the ruckus created by the BJP on the killing of five Indian  soldiers by Pakistan at LoC in Jammu and Kashmir as the  opposition party demanded that Defence Minister A K Antony  apologise to Parliament after two statements issued on the  incident.
Uproar created by the BJP on the issue and the AIADMK, the  SP, the TDP and the Left over their respective demands led to adjournment of the House twice — first till 1135 hrs and then  till noon.
Raising the issue soon after Chairman Hamid Ansari took up  the first question, BJP member Venkaiah Naidu said there were  two different statements on the killing of Indian soldiers.
Congress members from Andhra Pradesh, who have been opposing  the proposed creation of Telangana, meanwhile, stood silently holding placards reading ”we want united Andhra Pradesh”.
Left party members from West Bengal also gathered in the  well shouting slogans that there should be a ”democratic set  up in the state”.
Speaker Meira Kumar kept on requesting the agitating members  to go back to their seats but it all fell on deaf ears and she adjourned the House till 1200 hrs.
Earlier when the House met, Ms Kumar welcomed a parliamentary delegation from Seychelles.
Wishing the Seychelles Parliamentary delegation a pleasant  stay in India, the Speaker said the India-Seychelles relations  were characterised by close friendship and understanding.
She also made obituary references to the passing away of  Subbiah Ambalam, member of the second Lok Sabha, and Amar Roypradhan, member from sixth to 13th Lok Sabha.
