NEW DELHI: In an effort to maintain peace and tranquility at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) along the China border, India and China will soon have the telephonic hotline at the Director General of Military Operation (DGMO) level.
“We are keen to start the hotline. China is also clear about it. The process is on and soon we will have the hotline at DGMO level,” Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat said at the annual presser ahead of the Army Day on January 15. Speaking on Dokalam, he said up to June 2016 it was innocuous activity, but in June 2017 it became serious, so they intervened. The de-escalation has happened. (AGENCIES)
