JAMMU, Sept 20: Students and staff of Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA) here today staged a protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD) for preparing to establish a Power Receiving Station within the premises of IMFA at Poonch House in Talab Tillo.

The protesting students and staff of IMFA asked PDD authorities to cancel the plan to establish the Power Receiving Station within the premises of IMFA.
They said that the institute is one of the sensitive institutes in J&K with archaeological values and expressed their concern against the PDD.
The students and staff of IMFA also wrote a letter in this regard to the Director Achieves, Archaeology and Museums and asked if PDD has got permission from the Department of Achieves, Archaeology and Museums to establish such a receiving station within the vicinity of IMFA.
They said that if all this is going without permission, then stern action should be taking against the violators.
