Illegal mining mafia exposed; six vehicles, construction material seized

JAMMU, Aug 5: The authorities have exposed the illegal mining mafia operative by seizing six vehicles and the construction material.
As per police sources, Tehsildar Dansal Dhruv Gupta, SHO Police Station Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Vikram Sharma and officials of Geology and Mining Department Officer seized two tippers bearing registration numbers JK02BF-1458 and JK02AX-0947 from Chini Nallah, Village Hurlani, Tehsil Dansal. The drivers of the tippers fled away from the spot and as such both the tippers were lifted by crane.
Around 130 MT of construction material, which was dumped illegally has also been seized from Chini Nallah, Village Hurlani.
Around Rs 1.5 lakh fine has been realised from the violators which is to be paid at Joint Director Office, Geology and Mining Department for release of vehicles.
Around 600 MT sand has been destroyed and put back into to the Jhajjar Nallah at Village Chaddali in Tehsil Dansal.
Meanwhile, teams from Police Station Khour led by SHO Inspector Balvinder Singh, Police Post Greater Kailash led by PSI Harish Chander and Police Post Sidhra led by SI Majid Hussain raided different locations in their respective areas and seized four vehicles involved in illegal mining.
DMO Jammu was also intimated about the same.
The mining was done in violation of order of High Court of J&K.
In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
