IIEC of Central University Jammu organizes lecture of Innovation

JAMMU, Sept 10: The Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Council (IIEC) of Central University of Jammu, organized the maiden session of lectures on the topic ‘Innovation.’
K  C Sharma, MBBS, MS, Chief Consultant Surgeon, who has invented many instruments, started his lecture with the statement that a creative mind works best away from the artificial environment and equipments.  He shared a lot of innovative ideas which are invented by Indian people without any proper lab facilities, scientific knowledge and costly equipments. He also talked about the different innovative techniques invented at the ground level like sex determination methods, plant watering and nutritioning methods, technique of destroying polythene, inventing different types of stretchers. He ended his lecture with the note that ‘India is in cities but Bharat is in villages’ and encouraged the students of the university to brush their mind and start creating new ideas.
Dr  C M Seth, eminent environmentalist, Chairman, WWF, J&K Chapter,  also addressed the gathering  and said that innovation is the process of translating an idea or invention into a good or service that creates value for which customers will pay. He encouraged the students of the university by motivating them to club their idea with knowledge and their knowledge with entrepreneurship which can work wonders. He, very precisely, listed out India’s national innovation systems like CSIR, ICAR, ICMR and various universities and institutes. He also talked about the NITI Ayog Samiti Initiatives and Make in India campaign which he said was the output of innovation in India.
Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, also addressed the gathering and motivated all to discover their own genius in them. He said that opening the IIEC in the university is aimed at creating a platform for young students to come together and bring up new and innovative ideas which would add to the development of the society. He also encouraged the students to showcase the local resources and perform an optimum use of the resources for creating something innovative and creative.
