GRP Jammu adds Rs 7007 to State exchequer

JAMMU, July 2: GRP Jammu added Rs 7007 to the State exchequer by apprehending traders with goods, who were evading tax.
According to SP Railways Suram Singh, GRP Jammu men noticed a person namely Mohammad Ishfaq of UP at Railway Station Jammu, de-boarding his luggage from train.
Becoming suspicious, GRP men asked the person about tax payment, which the person failed to produce, SP added.
He said that GRP informed Sales Tax Authority who reached on the spot, seized the goods and made a challan of Rs 3767.
SP stated that yesterday, challan of an amount of Rs 3,240 was made by Sales Tax Department on the goods seized by GRP Jammu men.
Meanwhile, Suram Singh rewarded the GRP Jammu men suitably for this good work.
