Ganesh Sharma’s painting selected in International Contest

JAMMU, Oct 28: Painting titled ‘Uddan- Chhuna Hai Aasman’ by well known nationally and internationally acclaimed artist Ganesh Kumar Sharma from border village Sanoora, Samba has been selected for VOSAP Art from Heart International Art Contest-2020.
The contest is organised by VOSAP (Voice of Specially Abled People) which is a Surat (Gujarat) based global advocacy organisation having association with UN COSP.
The Theme of the contest is ‘Disability’ in which thousands of Artists from 52 countries across the globe submitted their entries but only 200 entries were selected for final exhibition.
The nine member world renowned panel of judges from USA, UK and India have evaluated the online entries while the grand award ceremony and inauguration of exhibition will be on December 3, 2020 which is International Day for Persons with Disability.
The painting ‘Uddan’ has been selected in Professional Artist with Disability category.
It is done on canvas board using oil colours with size 36*24 inches.
Sharma has participated in more than 300 Art Exhibitions till date at State, National and International level and he has been working in the field of art for over 40 years and held 24 solo shows of his art works at different places of the country and abroad in coveted art galleries.
Ganesh Sharma is Specially Abled and is the recipient of State Award by J&K Government, National Award by Government of India.
He also got Gold Medal twice from ABI, USA and a Gold Medal by J&K Government.
A handout sated that Sharma has also been awarded by J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Punjab Lalit Kala Academy, Chandigarh; Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar; Academy of Fine Arts and Crafts Society, New Delhi besides being honoured by many organisations and dignitaries for his contributions in the field of art and culture.
