JAMMU, Apr 28: Renowned artist of Jammu and Kashmir KK Gandhi participated in the “Shimla National Art Festival” organized by Himachal State Museum.
He created a painting of 5ft X 9ft live during the festival. The spectators cheered, applauded and celebrated every stroke of his brush in full view of the public.
Twenty five artists, one each from every state, participated in the festival.
Besides, two hundred artists who volunteered to participate were also accommodated. KK Gandhi who had attained the acknowledgement and recognition in earlier such programmes held during previous years where he was given the honour of adoring the walls of Raj Bhawan and Chief Minister’s residence at Shimla with his paintings.
At such earlier events he was especially honoured by then Chief Ministers Prem Kumar
Dumal and Virabhadra Singh keeping in view his ability and skills, a special permission was given to Gandhi for making a live painting in the open on world famous Ridge of Shimla.
Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Himachal Pradesh who visited the festival venue extended his highest appreciation and acknowledged Gandhi’s skill of creating such a lively live painting.
