JAMMU, Aug 29: Jammu Kashmir Female Multipurpose Health Workers’ Welfare Association, Jammu province today observed strike and staged a protest dharna in the office of Deputy CMO Jammu to press for its demand of permanent solution of salary head 2211.
The dharna was staged by the Female Multipurpose Health Workers in every district of the province and raised slogans in support of their demands. They said that they will continue their protest till the permanent solution of salary Head 2211 and fulfillment of their other demands.
In Jammu district, the Female Multipurpose Health Workers held a strong protest in the office complex of Directorate of Health Services and later entered into the office chamber of Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Jammu, Dr MY Khan wherein they locked him and Dr LD Bhagat, Assistant Director, Family Welfare.
They staged protest dharna there and raised anti-Government slogans for not fulfilling their long pending demands including permanent solution of salary head 2211, release of pending salaries, delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), release of pending salary since March 2018, fixation of job functions of FMPHWs at par with other working categories of Health Sector, up gradation of the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacist, Lab Tech X-Ray Tech, Dental Tech and Ophth Tech.
They also demanded creation of post of LHVs in new PHCs, publication of seniority list of FMPHWs in the official website of the Health Department for bringing transparency in promotions, 50% quota to be allotted in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as Health Educators and amendment of SRO 20 dated 20-04-1992 which is pending in the administrative department for last 27 yrs.
Among those who take part in the protest were Neelam Kumari, Surya Akhter, Sapna Gupta (general secretary), Kamla Devi, Soma Devi, Pushpa Devi, Swaran Kour, Rani Devi, Urmil Devi, and Mamta Devi.
