Srinagar, July 3: The Union of Victims of Police Personnel Families today protested here demanding speedy disposal of cases pending under SRO 376.
The protesters said that since the Governor’s rule only a single file under the said SRO has been cleared while as scores of such cases are gathering dust in the offices.
“There was a total of 120 files under SRO 376, out of which 48 were cleared when the Govt was in place but since the imposition of Governor’s rule in the State only 1 file has been cleared,” said Gagan Singh. Click here to watch video
The protestors said that they are following their cases for last more than 9 months, but “the Chief Secretary has kept all the files pending in his office,” he said.
“We have met the Governor thrice, we met the Advisors umpteen times; there is not a single person whom we have not met in the Secretariat,” he said.
There is a total of 72 cases of SRO 376 that are pending with the administration. The protestors demanded that the Governor should look into the matter and get cases cleared as soon as possible.
