Enforcement Team of RTO Kathua realizes over Rs 5 lakh as fine

KATHUA, Nov 27: Enforcement Team of RTO, Kathua realizes more than five lac of fine for violation of permit and traffic rules.
As per handout a total of more than 200 vehicles were checked out of which 157 were compounded by the Enforcement Team of RTO Kathua. Most of the vehicles were compounded in contravention of Sec. 66/192A of M. V. Act (route permit violation). An amount of Rs. 5,64,000/- was realized from the violators on spot.
The checking was made under the overall supervision of Raj Kumar Thappa, RTO Kathua. He warned the defaulters of severe action for violation of standing traffic rules. The RTO also gave instructions to the staff to make surprise checking on NH and other routes and take action against the drivers violating the standing rules.
