UDHAMPUR, Apr 26: An elderly man committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in village Bari, Ramnagar, here today.
The deceased was identified as Shanker Dass (58) son of Charnu Ram of Bari Ramnagar. He consumed some poisons substance under mysterious circumstances and fell unconscious. Family members took him to Ramnagar Hospital, where doctors referred him to District Hospital Udhampur. However, he died on way to Udhampur.
Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has a registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
