Dutta distributes blankets among needy

JAMMU, Feb 2: National Conference Provincial Vice President Jammu Vijay Laxmi Dutta on Saturday distributed blankets among fifty needy women of Shiv Nagar here and called for societal role in mitigating the sufferings of disadvantageous segments of society.
Besides prominent citizens of the area, Dr Meenakshi, Dr Dilshada and Mrs Nimmo Devi were also present on the occasion.
While speaking, Dutta said serving the people is service to God and the people must rise above communal and caste considerations and work for the upliftment and wellbeing of all for harmonious growth of the society.
She also called for eschewing the tendencies of hate and intolerance hoping that society at large will take up voluntary initiatives towards improving quality of life of have-nots.
Education and healthcare of women and children should receive top most attention, she added.
Dutta also stressed the need for holding free medical camps in various areas so that poor people benefit from the efforts of the philanthropic people.
Interacting with the people, Dutta assured the needy of all possible help.
