RAJOURI, Aug 14: The police arrested a drug-peddler and recovered a consignment of heroin from his possession.
Official sources said that during routine checking and frisking at Mehra Nagrota nerar Rajouri, a police team from Rajouri Police Station intercepted a Baleno Car bearing Registration No. RJ34CA- 5022 which was coming from Kot Dhara towards Khandli bridge, driven by Rajnish Meena, son of Ram Niwas Meena, resident of Rajasthan, at present Badhoon, tehsil and district Rajouri and recovered 5 gms of heroin from the possession of the driver and co-driver (Mehrooj Azam, son of Mohd Azam, resident of Saaj, Tehsil Thanamandi of the vehicle.
On this, a case FIR No. 431/2022 U/S 8(a)/21/22/25/29/NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Rajouri and further investigation launched.
