SRINAGAR, Sept 25: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Awantipora Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 15 kilograms grinded cannabis from his possession.
As per official sources, a team led by SHO Police Station Awantipora under the supervision of SDPO Awnatipora Mumtaz Ali Bhatti at a checkpoint established at Padgampora Larkipora intercepted a person who was moving under suspicious manner.
During search, police team recovered 15 kilograms of grinded cannabis from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Abdul Qayoom Bhat, son of Abdul Khaliq Bhat, a resident of Padgampora Awantipora.
Accordingly, a case FIR Number 208/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
