NC for restoration of Statehood before polls

SAMBA, Sept 25: A meeting of National Conference (NC) was held at Ghaghwal near here, today which was presided over by provincial vice president, of the party, Mohinder Singh and Saudagar Gupta, district president Samba.
The meeting was organized by Ravinder Jasrotia. Speaking on the occasion, Mohinder Singh said that issues of the people need to be raised. He emphasized that unemployment among the youth is a burning issue as youth is fed up with a flurry of recruitment cancellations.
Unemployment in the UT is among the highest in the nation and still rising and Government is sleeping on this issue. The youth need a voice and we will be their voice on this most important issue, he added.
He said new recruitments in AIIMS and also elsewhere must prefer the local youth, and give them preference on basis of domicile.
Singh also raised the issue of restoration of Statehood before the elections are conducted. He said that Statehood is a basic and very reasonable demand of the people of the J&K and needs to be met. J&K is proud of its heritage and deserves to be a full-fledged state governed by its own people. He urged the Centre to restore Statehood at the earliest.
He also raised the issues of local businesses men who are facing trouble due to lack of protection, and excessive checks. He urged the administration to support local businesses men as they are source of income and employment of a majority of the people and hence need to be protected at all costs for a dignified life for the people. Where ever possible UT administration must prefer buying from local businesses.
Saudagar Gupta district president, JKNC while speaking on the occasion said that communal harmony must be maintained and groups trying to disturb the same must be dealt with strictly. Others who where present on the occasion included Balbir Singh, senior vice president, JKNC Samba, Rajni Devi district president, JKNC Women Wing Hussain Din, secretary JKNC Samba, etc.
