JAMMU, Feb 23: Delimitation will pave way for uniform development and prosperity in J&K, which was long awaited process by the masses, stated J&K BJP general secretary, Vibodh Gupta (former MLC) at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here today while addressing party men.
Vibodh Gupta was accompanied by BJP senior leader and councillor JMC, Pramod Kapahi, senior leader Varinderjit Singh and BJP media in charge, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra.
“Delimitation is must and it should automatically be held from time to time based upon the needs of region, which was unduly earlier managed by the then political bosses for their own political progress. This was totally unrelated to the needs of public”, Vibodh said. “This is for the first time that the process will be conducted on a uniform platform targeted to promote equitable development in whole region”, he added.
Vibodh attacked those criticizing the ongoing delimitation process. He said that their restlessness shows that they have done grave wrongs with the population of Jammu & Kashmir earlier. He said that the delimitation is being conducted as per norms and as per the consensus of 2011 in the right earnest. He said that it will lead to the early elections. Delimitation process will enable better planning for the development, creation of jobs, building of infrastructure, better access of the political platforms to the common masses, he stressed.
Gupta commended the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha for stressing on the need to expedite the process. He said that those who are presently critical of the exercise have done grave injustice to the residents of the erstwhile State for minting their own profits in political and other terms.
Gupta asked the other political parties of Jammu & Kashmir to lend a hand in the completion of the delimitation process and contribute in the progress of the region instead of hindering the process by not cooperating in it. He said that the public is watching their actions closely and they will have to pay the price for their misdeeds in the next elections when they will be completely wiped out from the political map of J&K by the power of democracy.
