DDC reviews Amarnath Yatra arrangements

JAMMU, June 4: District Development Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for ensuing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The meeting among others was attended by RTO Jammu. A.K. Khajuria, SSP Security, Ramesh Angral, ADC, Arun Manhas, ACG, Sachin Jamwal, SDMs and  officers of concerned departments and representatives of religious and social organizations .
DDC directed the concerned departments to work in synergy and ensure that adequate arrangements are put in place for the Yatra. He directed Tourism Department to ensure that Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar is kept ready for the pilgrims, while PDD and PHE Departments were asked to ensure adequate power and water supply to the Yatri Niwas and other lodging places.
JMC was directed to ensure proper sanitation at the Yatri Niwas, areas around Ram Mandir, Geeta Bhawan, Railway Station and other places. He also stressed on ensuring that the street lights around Yatri Niwas are functional.
DDC asked RTO Jammu and Traffic Police to keep a strict check on overcharging by auto rickshaw and other passenger vehicles besides SRTC was directed to make sufficient arrangements for transportation. He also stressed on making fool proof security arrangements during Yatra.
He sought cooperation from various religious and social organizations for the smooth conduct of Yatra and said that administration will make concerted efforts to put in place adequate arrangements for the convenience of the Yatris.
