DCC raises burning issues of Ladakh

LEH, Mar 4: While urging upon the UT Administration in Ladakh to address various issues pertaining to Leh district, District Congress Committee (DCC) today said that it’s been more than seven months after bifurcation of J&K State into two Union Territories, but there are number of grievances which have remained un-addressed.
Talking to media-persons here today, DCC president Tsering Namgyal said that District Congress Committee always stands with 6th Schedule of Indian Constitution to protect Ladakh under the new UT set up and strongly demands for 6th schedule to Ladakh.
He further demanded for the promotion and recruitment in various departments in UT of Ladakh as it’s has been stopped after the declaration of UT and urged upon the UT Administration to make it streamline as soon as possible.
Congress party strongly condemned outsourcing of jobs and demanded immediate recruitment of local unemployed youths in all the Government departments.
The other demands included recruitment of Bhoti and Arabic teachers, abrogation of SRO 202, distribution of State property in fair manner in the ratio of 70/30 basis, regularization of casual and daily wagers, revocation of charges of drinking water in Leh.
The Congress Party strongly demanded supply of drinking water free of cost for the people of Ladakh, appointment of engineering wing in MCL Leh, make the Administrative units created in 2013-14 functional, proper regularization of land, immediate release of funds under MGNREGA and set up screening facility at Airport to check incoming passengers for Coronavirus.
