DODA, Feb 7: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar convened a meeting of engineers and other officers to review the road restoration works on National Highway (NH-244) under the territorial jurisdiction of the district, here today.
While reviewing the status of clearance of landslides, snow and other restoration works on the National Highway (NH-244), Deputy Commissioner directed SE PWD(R&B), Doda to augment the deployment of men and machinery so that the pace of restoration work is expedited. He also directed for permanent deployment of machinery along the NH, particularly at the vulnerable spots prone to landslides so that roads are made through in the shortest possible time.
Dy. SP Traffic, Doda was directed to strictly regulate the movement of traffic from Doda to Jammu and vice-versa as per the advisory issued for vehicular movements on the National Highways. Besides, ARTO Doda was directed to regulate the fair charged by the commercial vehicles from the passengers and to check the overloading of vehicles to prevent the mishaps.
Among others the meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Doda, Z. N Manhas, Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B) circle Doda, D. K Razdan, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Doda, Ravishankar Sharma and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic Doda Farooq Ahmed.
