DC Reasi conducts inspection of RDD works

REASI, Sept 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi Charandeep Singh today visited various Panchayats of blocks Reasi and Pouni where he inspected completed and ongoing works of Rural Development Department (RDD).
He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Reasi Dr. Anirudh Rai, Executive Engineer REW Pankaj Sharma, District Panchayat Officer, BDOs, AEEs and other officials of RDD including field functionaries.
During the visit, DC inspected the construction of tile works at Chaki Mohalla and diversion drains in Panchayat Seela all having estimated cost of over Rs 15.00 lakhs. He also visited Flour Mill sanctioned under self-employment scheme and Anganwadi center.
Enroute, the DC also checked culvert work with approaches over Seela Nallah to be completed at estimated cost of Rs.4.00 lakhs under 14th FC in convergence with MGNREGA. The culvert will connect two habitations and benefit over 300 people.
He also enquired from the PRI members about population profile, cropping pattern, economic activities, development gaps, priorities and requirement of the areas. He instructed BDO for completing all pending works of Panchayat under MGNREGA and other plans focusing on works proposed for catch the rain.
Deputy Commissioner visited Panchayats Mari-A, Mari-B and Block headquarter where he conducted inspection of Panchayat Ghar completed under the scheme RGSA with cost of Rs 32.58 lakhs. In Mari, he also inspected a diversion drain constructed with the cost of 4.80 lakhs under Back to village and culvert at Sabaz Mandi.
During visit of Block office, he instructed BDO Reasi for developing landscape, plantation and assessment of old building structure.
Later, he also visited historic site at Camel Danga where he instructed for cleaning of pond and removing of wild grass. Instructions were also passed for preservation of this site by executing small works.
At Talwara, the DC reached the site of a well which was constructed by RDD. Local people apprised DC about the benefits of this well for irrigation and water conservation. On the request of locals, he called telephonically officers of agriculture and asked them to promote the area for growing organic vegetables.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited holy shrine Kashi Patta and inspected children park constructed under MGNREGA. Slew of instructions issued to BDO for promoting this site after executing all necessary works there. DC also paid visit in a school where locals raised the demand of a boundary wall from Panchayat fund or any other scheme.
