JAMMU, Feb 18: A delegation of College Teachers’ Association (CTA) led by its Jammu Wing president, Dr Sanjay Verma, met Parvez Dewan, Advisor to Governor NN Vohra, regarding anomalies in SRO 124 issued by Higher Education Department on April 21, 2014.
The association apprised the Advisor that Higher Education Department is implementing UGC conditions retrospectively which has not been done by UGC. He was apprised that at the time of implementation of condition by UGC all Assistant Professors in AGP 8000/Selection Grade Lecturers were exempted from API scores and research publications required for moving to Associate Professor grade.
The delegation told the Advisor that even for those Assistant Professors, who were in AGP 7000 UGC, the Higher Education Department had implemented the conditions of research publications on prorate basis
The association demanded that UGC conditions be implemented on the same analogy as has been done by UGC.
The Advisor gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation to look into the matter positively.
