JAMMU, Feb 18: Chief Secretary, B R Sharma today reviewed the status of ‘End-to-end Computerization of PDS Operations’ for Fair Price Shop (FPS) automation in the State.
Financial Commissioner, Planning & Development, B B Vyas, Commissioner Secretary Finance, Navin Kumar Choudhary, Secretary CA&PD Saurabh Bhagat and other officers were also present in the meeting.
Secretary CA&PD presented details about the activities including digitization of beneficiary/ration card and other data, computerization of supply chain management, setting up of transparency portals and grievance redress mechanism.
Chief Secretary was also given a demonstration of the device to be used at the FPS i.e. Point of Sale device or mobile terminal that is capable of performing PDS related transactions.
The main transaction to be undertaken through the device will be authentication of beneficiaries, recording of sales to beneficiaries at the FPS and uploading of transaction data in the designated server. The uploaded data will be used to make online allocations for subsequent months.
Chief Secretary said that for end to end computerization of CAPD Department latest hardware should be utilized. IT Department was asked to provide facilities for Aadhaar authentication including State Resident Data Hub (SRDH), advanced search Facility and e-Aadhaar print-out facility.
