*Relief to be given for Agri, Horticulture losses

JAMMU, Jan 6: Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam today chaired a video conference with Deputy Commissioner (DCs) to review various issues of public importance.
Principal Secretary, Planning Development & Monitoring Department, Commissioner/ Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Divisional Commissi-oner, Jammu, Secretary Revenue, Secretary Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstr-uction (DMRR&R), Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu and other senior officers attended the meeting.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Director Industries & Commerce, Kashmir participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
At the outset, Chief Secretary observed that the meeting of the Executive Committee to sanction relief in favour of affected farmers has been scheduled for January 9.
The two Divisional Commissioners submitted the district-wise details of losses caused to Agriculture/ Horticulture crops. Chief Secretary asked the two Divisional Commissioners to firm up the district-wise losses caused to Agriculture/Horticulture crops and submit fresh details if any to DMRRR by 07/01/2020 so that the affected farmers can be sanctioned relief as per SDRF norms speedily.
He directed the DCs of border districts viz Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora in Kashmir Division and Poonch and Reasi in Jammu Division to appoint Nodal Officers of the level of ADDC/ADC to ensure that all villages along the border are saturated with the ongoing Government Programmes.
He directed Principal Secretary, Planning Development & Monitoring Department to share the list of all ongoing programmes / schemes with the concerned DCs.
Chief Secretary directed DCs to ensure that the online uploading of feedback of the officers deployed in B2V2 Programme is completed immediately. DCs were asked to draw an abstract of the demands and needs of the Panchayats and ensure that these demands fit in the ongoing Government Programmes and implemented on ground.
He asked DCs to finalize the location of identified chunks of Government land in their respective districts in consultation with the Industries & Commerce Department by 10.1.2020 and submit the same through their respective Divisional Commissioners for further transfer to the Industries and Commerce Department for setting up of Industrial Estates, which can create employment and other basic amenities for the public.
Chief Secretary asked DCs to submit the list of identified Government buildings and structures needing seismic retrofitting including schools, offices etc to the DMRR&R Department so that seismic retrofitting of deficient buildings and structures is taken up under the National Seismic Risk Mitigation Programme (NSRMP).
