Councillor starts work of deep drain

JAMMU, Dec 2: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor of Ward number 73, Prof. Youdhvir Singh here today started work of covering deep drain at Bhour Pind.
A local Jagdish Lal Sharma claimed that the drain was constructed more than 10 years back but it could not be covered due to the apathy of different public representatives resulting which the people were forced to live in unhygienic conditions.
The locals led by Updesh Kumar Sharma urged the JMC Councillor to get the drain constructed till the point where it falls in Landoi Nallah so that the choked water damaging crops and posing health threat can be avoided.
The Councillor assured to take up the issue to higher authorities of JMC provided the land owners offer land for the drain.
Later, Councillor inaugurated another work of lane in the same locality.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were B.R Sharma, Chuni Lal Sharma, Rattan Lal, Prem Kumar and Bhushan Sharma along with S. Manjot Singh, Junior Engineer and Sandeep Kumar Bhatti from engineering wing of JMC.
