KATHUA, Apr 3: The contractual paramedical staff selected under SRO 24 held a peaceful protest in the premises of Associate Hospital, Government Medical College Kathua in support of their demand to get extension letter after completion of one year agreement period.
The protestors Pooja Kumari, Anju Kumari and Ishfaq Ahmed said that the Government is taking undue benefits of contractual staff and engage us in job without any extension order. They alleged that they are working hard day and night in such tough circumstances when country is fighting Corona virus.
They said they continued their job on the assurance of administration that they will get extension letter to continue their service. But in last 15 days nothing has been done in this context and now administration is warning them to terminate their services if they raised their voice.
They said that 247 paramedical workers in Kathua and 1275 worker in Jammu province are working in different hospitals. They demanded to issue the extension letters to continue the works in such tough time to fight against Corona virus.
