Cong-NC alliance doesn’t augur well for Jammu: DSS

JAMMU, Mar 23: Chairman Dogra Swabhimaan Sangthan (DSS) Ex-servicemen (ESM) Cell, Col (Retd) J P Singh has termed Congress-NC alliance as anti-Jammu.
In a press statement here, Col Singh said politically, though nothing wrong, but ideologically and morally, aligning with NC, which is culpable for all the woes of Jammu, is treachery with Jammu. He said Jammu has been foremost casualty of NC-Congress alliances in the past. More importantly, it is the casualty of political and social discrimination due to such unholy alliances.
Col Singh reminded Congress that people have not forgotten that NC-Congress fought 1987 State elections jointly and Dr Farooq became the Chief Minister. It was under his rule that unprecedented insurgency erupted in the State resulting into alleged genocide of Pandits and demographic invasion of Jammu. That lead to his dismissal in 1990. Again, NC-Congress jointly fought 1996 elections and are blamed for massive rigging. It is NC which has been creating controversies about State’s accession to India.
“In the first ever State election of 1951, NC won all the 75 seats by rejecting nomination papers of Praja Parshid candidates. It was mother of all treacheries. Biased political power sharing between various regions is because of rigged election of 1951. Voter now a days is very wise. I am sure they will keep the past of NC as well of such opportunistic alliances and their outcome in mind while supporting this alliance. If Congress and NC continue to make mockery of the sentiments of Jammu people, it will not have the moral right to seek votes,” Col Singh said.
People must remember that it was the NC-Congress Coalition Govt which terminated Dogra certificate which is deemed to be anti-youth act. Earlier, there was no alternative in Jammu. But now there is a choice-Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan. People must trust and test it, stated Col Singh.
“While accepting NC support in Udhampur constituency, Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh hailed Dr Farooq for sending his father Sahib to Rajya Sabha and making his brother a Minister. Reverse seems to be forgotten. Dr Farooq’s father, Sheikh Abdullah is responsible for meeting out tremendous humiliation and exile to Maharaja Hari Singh. It is a food for thought for the erstwhile Royal family,” stated Col Singh.
